Question:

Man Utd fans: So what did you make of the start yesterday??

Now this is meant for the real and true supporters who aren;t chucking in the towel after one game! Do you believe that we should take yesterdays 1-1 draw with Newcastle with a pinch of salt!? Look who we were missing

Tevez

Ronaldo

Nani

Anderson

Hargreaves

Saha

And we traditionally start slowly anyway remember last season?? 2 pts from the first 3 games! So to those who say "Utd cant win it now!" after one game I feel you are slighty misguided!

SO, Will United still win the Premiership?

I believe we can and will!

Have a little faith...

  1. were just of to a slow start like we did last season. We had a lot of chances just didnt take them

  2. I wouldn't even bother asking this question if i were you. Most people would know United were missing alot of players and the first game of the season doesn't determine the rest. I don't really read anything into this draw, except that United might not have as much depth as i thought they would if they cant beat Newcastle at home.

And those people saying you can't win it now are obviously mentally retarded, haven't seen a football game before or are trying to provoke you lol.

  3. At least it's weeding the fake fans from the true fans

  4. As you are a Man Utd fan why would you need to ask this question if you are so confident. As a Liverpool fan I no that this one result will have no bearing on what Man Utd do over the season, but of course any points dropped we like. Im sure Man Utd will be amongst the title runners come May.

  5. They looked a bit rushed and impatient at times - which showed when  Rio and Giggs started having a ruck (dont see that often) It reminded me of Rafa Benitez trying to decide whether he should order at the drive-in or eat in at Burger King.

  6. I think we should have bought Jonás Gutiérrez :D

  7. thank god, at last someone with some common sense! To the people who are doubting us or anyone else who had a disappointing result at the weekend, i'm going to say this slowly, THAT... WAS... THE... FIRST... GAME... OF... A... 38 GAME... SEASON!

I think all your points some it up perfectly mate, we had a lot of injuries, suspensions, etc which not only left us with a poor first team but also an unusually weak bench with no attacking options, with the exception of John O'Shea of course and i'm sure the Liverpool fans will back me up on that!

Also if it wasn't for Shay Given's face we would have been 1-0 up inside the first 10 minutes, the game could have been very different then, but it wasn't so lets look forward to the next game and hopefully a better result but no worries if not as we didn't win our first 3 games last season and that didn't end too badly did it?

Have some faith people, three in a row is not beyond us but it wont be easy, this is known as the toughest league in the world for a reason!

  8. So, if you get injuries, you should still be able to come out on top, that's what depth in the squad is.

  9. im not worried as you said we dropped points at the start last season its a marathon not a sprint no we didnt deserve to win but nor did newcastle a draw was a fair result i have no doubts we will be there or there abouts come may

  10. Tevez - He hardly scores anyway.

Ronaldo - An average team without him.

Nani - You missed him a bit.

Anderson - Hmm, not sure about this one.

    Hargreaves - Substitute, come on.

Saha - Yeah your missing Saha, no wonder you drew, huh?

Manchester United will NOT win the Premier League. Even when Ronaldo comes back with his heart not in it anymore.

  11. Okay so you missed Tevez and Ronaldo but you would have lost even if the other 4 were there.

  12. Performance was totally unacceptable. But our luck with injuries is really down- Carrick and Giggsy are out for a couple of weeks.

Suddenly everyone at United are trying to emulate Saha.

  13. i think it was a bad game and i dont think you will win the title because you peaked and last year and your going to drop off how well you play

  14. Take last season for instance...

Who led most of the time?

    and who won the league?

  15. Of course its dissapointing to begin with a draw at home, but this can only spur them on. We're lucky that the injury 'crisis' is at the begining, we're down (at least) 10 senior players, including 7 midfielders, for the trip to Pompey. Deja Vu anyone? Win the shield on pens... Sloppy home draw at the start... trip to Pompey in the 2nd game... ?

If Tevez was there, it was a comfertable win.

  16. ?? Its not a disaster with then getting a draw against Newcastle,it could have gone better with a win. Man Utd are 2 points behind Chelsea,Arsenal and Liverpool, there are 37 league games left, and they are 111 points up for grabs. And of course the other 3 will slip up as well.

From the list, you missed out the injured,Foster,Park Ji sung and Silvestre. From the list we can see there are 6 attacking players missing and thats the reason for the lack of attacking edge.

I am somehwat glad ManUtd drew, now im sure SAF will surely push to get a new striker.

And your excuse of traditionally started slowly and the "have a little faith" makes it sound u hv doubts. No worries man......the next Man Utd match will see a different United team. And yes,i am a Manchester United Fan

  17. I'm a Chelsea fan but You really should have done a lot better. Last season you beat them like 6-0 and this time you drop two points at home. Sorry if that sounds a bit rude, and I acknowledge the fact that you quite a few injuries. But that was very disappointing

  18. yup, i agree and besides man utd din play that badly, newcastle hung on really well and shay given had an excellent game. however they did seem to lack that extra 'oomph' in front of goal. maybe it was because they missed tevez. and lots of their midfield players are injured or whatever.

i'm not a man utd fan by the way.

  19. thank you at least 1 United fan is thinking straight i mean that was a strong Newcastle side and that was a crippled United team and United still looked the better and drew what after 45 seconds or something

United fans need to relax i remember last season they got off to a slow start and look at the result C.Ronaldo 40 plus goals, the Champions League and Premier League title wins so really United fans just need to relax just cause they didn't start off like Chelsea does not mean they are any less capable than last season

  20. Wobbly...but with the squad we put out I didn't really expect more, we missed Carrick, Giggs and Hargreaves, three of our starting XI midfielders, had to field Rooney that isn't fully fit + Campbell with no experience in the top flight and yet we had more possession. Not too worried, but we do need a striker, though he wouldn't have helped in yesterdays game since it was a make-shift midfield and there was really no one to supply the ball forwards even if anyone had been in front.

Not to worry about the opinions of some other Man Utd fans, someone was already writing us off during the summer, even before the season started...

  21. im seeing a repeat of last season!!

whoever says we will be relegated after our poor start last season were made to eat their words. we went on to clinch the double.

so what if we drew against the magpies? its only the FIRST game.

    go united!

  22. Look who we were missing ???

Oh boo-hoo I feel so sorry for you and the tough time you are having! (EXTREME SARCASM!)

When you can afford to spend 20 million on a bloke who throwes his toys out of his pram every 5 minutes you can't complain.

Face it, thety weren't up to scratch even with the class players they had in the team, Rooney Giggs Scholes Carrick, I'd settle for them in my team.

  23. i think we played well.. and so did given ?? if we had played badly i would of been concerned.. newcastle look a better side than last season and i can see them takeing points off some of the other big four ??

  24. every true UNITED fan would love to know what this slow start or as SAF said "self induced handicap ! " is all about. i know from a personal point of view i take nothing for granted and i start every season looking for 40 points then a european place, then winning the league. i am very relaxed about yesterday we played with a skeleton first team, players out of position and still were unlucky not to win, having 2 flair or play makers out is unlucky but 4 is incredible bad luck. anything can happen and generally does its early days and i'm confident if we make the same start as last season the 4th match at a field will have even more emphasis.

NB: looks like newcastle are going to be a tough team to beat this season the two new signings and shay given back between the posts.
