Council "officilals" seem to have more rights than the police. How long will it be before someone is fined for not wiping their backside in the approvel EC manner having visited the loo?

  1. Thats Gordon Browns Britian for you

  2. Madness, isn't it?

Bloke in the van - HIS OWN van - lights up, so does his passenger.

    Both fined £30.

Where does the money go to? To keep the numpties in a job, that's where.

    Who voted brown in?

  3. Don't give them any more crazy ideas comrade.

Oh no comrade now you are trying to tell the masses the truth you are starting to sound like a terrorist imprisonment without trial i can feel it coming i will send you a file!

  4. LOL .... only in England could they get away with that ! Only the English would take that kind of treatment and do or say nothing !

  5. Another reason why we have to get rid of Labour. Petty regulations, officialdom, councillors doing their best impression of the Gestapo.

Hopefully the change of government we see and end to this nonsense and get back to living in a common sense society!

  6. PC world to PC country.

  7. It is getting very silly now - no way to run a country.

  8. They'll be fining any actor on TV for smoking because the cast are at their place of work, even indoors, on location etc etc.

I will be watching the street and albert square like a bloody hawk then grass em up to the local council

  9. I agree that there are to many federal, state, and local "policies" that control Americans.  We are the land of the free because of the brave.  Smoking bans.  Hey, I'm not a smoker and I'll' admit it's kinda nice.  I will also admit that there are certain social areas that smoking is permit able.  Bars and restaurant bars.  Outdoor events and parks.  Now you can't even smoke in your home.

Local government policies.  I just got a letter in the mail that said I had to replace my sidewalk for the cities "safe walk" program.  No, it's not missing chunks and in bad shape.  There are some cracks, but no real damage.  They found it to be 1/2 inch "difference" in some areas.  So, now I'm being to to replace it, or they will.  Well, I am a single father and I'm barely making ends meet.  I don't have the $2200 of disposable income to throw away on my sidewalk.  Naturally if I don't pay someone, the city will do it for me and charge me double.

Everyone is slowly giving up their freedoms and the Governments are making us "feel good" about it.  I recall a short, angry man that lived in Germany in the 1930's to 1945 that made promises to his countryman, who were in a recession, in exchange for them giving away certain freedoms.

  10. It drives me to the brink of total despair. It's like being locked in the asylum with the loonies running the show.

And to think my Grandfather fought in WW1 & my Father in WW2 for this S**t. They must be spinning in their graves.

  11. You are absolutely right ... I am a council enforcement officer but do my job with total respect for people ... and that way I generally get it back.  The examples you quote above are an absurd way to use enforcement powers and show very little, if any, common sense.  People hate being tied up with red tape or bureaucracy and I find that sensible discussion and negotiation always resolves these situations. And everyone has human rights, don't they?  It seems to me that you give someone an enforcement roll, a fluorescent  jacket and and the ability to control people .... there is bound to be some abuse of those powers. No one should be allowed to become heavy handed in such petty situations ....

  12. it gets better a local man near me was fined £60 for dropping the ASH from his cigarette outside.I'm sure things are going to continue this way until we have a true one world state where everything we do is controlled by the state, 1984 and all that .At least the criminal elements in society will DIE out as they are struck down by lasers attached to the CCTV cameras when caught breaking the law!!!

  13. I put my recycling bag out every week without fail, and at least one week in every month, they don't turn up to collect it, so it's just sitting out on the landing in my block. If they want me to recycle, the least they can do is collect it on time!

And what about the woman who got fined for putting her bin out too early?! I mean, come on! Is there no accountability for those of us that work and cannot wait until the council's preferred time to put our bins out?

This country has gone money-mad. They must spend 24 hours a day trying to think up new ways of scamming our hard-earned money out of us. Personally, I'm just working towards getting the h**l out of the UK altogether.

  14. The petty laws you refer to are English not European. And anyway, do you think just by getting rid of the Labour Party all those petty rules will go away? The Conservatives have truckloads of them just waiting in the wings.

My advice is boys and girls, do not give the bar stewards your vote.
