This person cut my grass for over 2 years and I paid him a good price.

Then he ran over my hose cutting it to pieces. When he came for his pay, he told me what he did and that another one would probably run about $5. I asked if he wanted to buy me another or have me deduct the money from his pay. I deducted the money and then his wife later told me he wasn't going to cut my lawn again. Was I wrong?

  1. no you were right. his wife is an Idiot

  2. I would say that you were wrong in expecting him to pay for a new hose since it was your job to make sure that the lawn was clear of  everything before he started mowing. His job was mowing, not picking up behind you.

I'm not trying to be rude here but I do know what I'm talking about since I do some mowing for a couple of people as a side job, and there's nothing more agrivating than going to a house to mow and having to spend part of my time walking the yard to see if there's anything in my way. It's not what I hired on to do.

  3. The frist thing you do when mowing a lawn is check for any foreign debris in the lawn..such as sticks rocks etc..no matter how many times you have cut it and how good you know the lawn..debris gets left there..and of all things...a garden hose or garden/yard items should be the first thing you would expect in them..he got off easy as it is...I wish I could buy a water hose for 5.00 you underchargd him...If his wife had to do the calling and tell you this..and he isn't man enough to do it himself..it appears he needs to cahnge his skirt for his wife is wearing the pants..

  4. With as many lawn care services as there are out there, he should be thankful to service you.If he made a mistake and damaged something he should be responsible for it.You did the right thing..hoses are not free where i live either...If he is a professional he knows to be aware of whats around  him , not wham bam  thank you ma'am..oh i damaged your property..so what...Replace him!!!!!!

  5. You were wrong....you shouldn't leave your hose laying out in the grass.
