Manager, Ron Washington puts the Texas Rangers squad on continuous reorganization
Things got off to a flying start again as the Texas Rangers took down the Seattle Mariners on Monday, 4th April, 2011, to cruise into their fourth win of the season. Without losing a single game in the proceedings, the crew seems to be well on
their way to glory. Fortunately, their manager has been brewing a continuous reorganization strategy that has seen the club shift its position players around the batting card.
In five games, Nelson Cruz became the third man in the squad to fire off on the designated hitter’s position. The move may seem strange at first, but skipper Ron Washington, is looking to give the major stars some time off from the field, as way to get the
energy levels back up on some of the stars.
Elvis Andrus has already availed some rest in the lineup, and Washington is not concerned about the opinions in the camp as the club has already reached the World Series. The captain of the Texan boat is looking to keep all 25 men of the roster involved.
"They know the grind of 162 games and playoffs," Washington said.
The skipper told the press that his squad will not be complaining about the situation on a grander scale. He affirmed that he has their backs, and they are open to discuss the situation with him openly, if it becomes necessary to do so.
Washington clarified that he will be willing to listen to anyone on the roster but the decision would eventually come from him.
"The thing is they can test me as long as they want to, and sometimes they will be right, and sometimes they will be wrong," Washington said. "But when it all comes down to it, I know more than them. I trust my feel, I trust my gut.
"It matters [what they think]. You want to make sure that they're clear mentally, but I do what I got to do. If I feel strongly about it, then I'm right. If I don't feel strongly about it, and they have a convincing argument, I'll change my mind."
With more than 155 games left in the campaign, the Rangers cannot deal with an injury concern on the horizon. At the end, it is a brilliant strategy from Washington that has panned out for the Rangers.
