Question:

Manager asks for my name..?

Usually after handing in a resume, I want to check back a week later. A lot of managers say like, "I'm looking through it", without asking for my name. So this one time I ask the manager, she says "Im still looking through it" but asks for my name. Should I just think nothing of it? I kind of did have a funny chat with the employee, and brought me to her.

  1. There is really no way to tell.  If the Manager appeared to be efficient in note taking during your interview, they will probably take note that you were one of the interviewees who followed up after the interview.

On the other hand, they might just be pretending to be an efficient Manager.

I prefer to think that this Manager is going to make a note on your resume that you were efficient yourself, in following up with him/her.  In the meantime, you can only sit back, relax and wait.

  2. What you did is embarrass the manager. She asked for you name so she could toss your resume'. Nice going.............
