A private television channel claimed yesterday that the 32-year-old has been stopped by the team management to give any statements. However, Cheema clearly denied any such conditions.

Since the last five years, Afridi has emerged as one of the finest limited-over bowlers of the world. Cheema expressed that talking to the media or not is Afridi's own choice, and the management does not have any issue with this.
"As far as the man of the match ceremonies or pre or post match conferences are concerned, the captain has the prerogative of deciding either to go himself before the media or to send some player for these customary interactions with the media. There is no restriction on Afridi to speak to the media. If he has not spoken to the media in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 it is because of availability issues," Cheema said.
The five-match One Day International series against the Islanders is going to commence from Thursday and it will be followed by three Test matches. However, Afridi will return to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 before the longer version of the series.
