I need help. There's this company that I'm going to start working for tomorrow but there asking for $500 deposit for all the materials I'm going to need during training and that later on there going to reimburse me back $1,000 back. Now they won't give it back if I quit or steel money from the business. Now I already pay $50 deposit because I got hired and they also going to reimburse them back when I'm a manager already. Now I'm in the middle either risk the $500 and just give it a shot or just forget it lose my $50? Is it real? So anybody help me what should i do?

  1. That sounds very fishy to me. It is the company's responsibility to pay for your training. Are they going to pay you while you are in training? I've never heard of a reputable company that ask employees to pay for training or doesn't pay them during training.

  2. Have you looked them up on Better Business Bureau? Personally I would not consider a job that asked me to pay them even if they did say they would reimburse me. There are companies out there that are preying on people who are unemployed because there are so many out of work right now. Call the police dept-not the emergency number-and ask if they have heard anything about the company you are going to. Talk to the labor board as well. Do your homework before you hand over that $500!

  3. You are paying for a job you were hired for?  Sounds fishy - I'd bail.

  4. frankly it sounds like a scam

No company should require you to deposit money to work for them

  5. employers pay you dont charge you. I lost $500 making a dumb mistake like you're about to make....forget the $50 bucks dude and go somewhere else... stop thinking about easy money-making....it doesn't happen. get a real job.

  6. This sounds like a scam. Usually employers will take money out of your paychecks for the tools you need up front

What kind of job are you getting that you only need the tools during training? Aren't you going to need them after wards too.

  7. Is this anything to do with insurance? If its American Income, ALTIG, or World Life Financial group - STAY THE HECK AWAY. Even if its not, this sounds kinda shady.
