a woman's life in Bahrain is not any different than a woman's live in Dubai.

Bahrain has a bigger substantial middle class. Its people are famously hospitable and it offers a liberal, sophisticated version of the Middle East, whereas Dubai is a city of the superlatives and a bit more hectic.

As a single working woman you do not have to worry about a thing. Not in Manama nor in Dubai. Just compare the job offers and salary packages and what they include (especially housing). Traffic in Dubai is worse than in Manama and both cities lack on public transportation. The metro in Dubai is on the way, but.......right know people still depend on cabs (and their drivers) and that is no fun.

Also check out the labor laws and visa regulations of both countries. There are almost alike, but there are some little differences also. Especially when it comes up to sponsorship.

Here are two links regarding living costs in both countries. You'll see, that there is not much difference, but Dubai is very short on accommodations and sometimes it's harder to find an apartment than to afford it.
