Manchester City's Yaya Toure beleives City have taken a ‘quantum leap’ when compared to their last campaign – Premier League Update
Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure believes that his side have gone on to significantly improve this season, in comparison to their last campaign. In fact, the midfielder believes the changes at the club have been so impressive that they can amount to
the team having taken a quantum leap this time around.
The midfielder was part of the City side that beat Villarreal by three goals to nil this past Wednesday, as the team went on to edge even closer to going on to participate in the knock out stages of the UEFA Champions League.
Following the win, the team is now sitting in the second spot of their Champions League group table, with just three points separating them from Bayern Munich, who are currently occupying the number one spot.
Should City go on and win their remaining two games, then they could end the campaign on top of their group, or level on points with Munich.
When talking about the improvements that City have made this season and how they are far better than they were last time around, Toure is quoted to have said: "We have made a quantum leap this season compared to last in terms of our winning mentality."
The Ivory Coast international then went on to admit that perhaps the improvements that were made to the squad over the summers are the reason for them performing as well as they are, but the existing players at the club also seem to have improved tremendously.
Toure strongly believes that City are now destined for greatness and that it is only a matter of time before they end up winning a trophy or two, just to make their mark a much more permanent one, on the world of football.
"The arrival of important players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero is the key factor in that," he said.
"We also have top quality footballers like Edin Dzeko and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Silva-c10601 in impressive form right now.
"The season is progressing marvellously and I do believe that we are in shape to win another trophy."
So far this season, City have been a rampant force of nature, pushing over just about anything in their path. The team has won almost every single game they have played and seem to be unstoppable.
However, it is now only a matter of consistently producing the same level of performances, if the team wish to win a trophy by the end of the season.
