Manchester City hosted Aston Villa at home this past weekend in the Premier League, and ended up dishing out a 5-0 thrashing to the visitors.
The club had previously suffered a home defeat against the Clarets in the Capital One Cup, and were looking to avoid a repeat performance. The first half saw only one goal separating the two sides as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Silva-c10601 scored amidst confusion in the box.
The second half saw a better City side, who scored 4 more goals. Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero scored two goals a-piece; two from the spot and two from open play.
The win moves City up at the top of the Premier League table, with Manchester United a point behind after losing at Carrow Road against Norwich City.

The Belgian centre-half had solid game at the back, and did well to contain his compatriot Benteke. Another convincing performance by the City captain at the heart of their defence helped them keep a clean sheet.
Gael Clichy – 8
The Frenchman had a solid game and dominated the left wing. He restricted Villa’s wingers and made sure they had a frustrating afternoon.
Matija Nastasic – 8
The youngster is slowly settling into life in the Premier League, and looked solid alongside Kompany at the back. He kept Benteke quiet and denied him any sure sight of goal.

The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 man faded to and from the game, but managed to produce some moments of quality. He still has not been very consistent for the champions, but has made a strong case to be started in the next few games.

Barry paired alongside Yaya Toure in midfield, and the pair worked well to hold the midfield. The Englishman was able to dictate the pace of the game and his positional awareness allowed City to push forward and attack Villa.
David Silva – 9
The Spanish midfield maestro had an excellent game and scored the first goal for the champions. He was always looking for space and was always available to receive the ball. His neat passing and movement were excellent and he remains City’s primary creative
outlet.
Yaya Toure – 8
The Ivorian was industrious as always, and looked very comfortable in midfield. Toure was involved in most of City’s attacks and helped out at the back as the hosts cruised to a 5-0 victory.

The Argentinian forward scored two goals on the night and was full of zest and energy. His movement, pace and trickery constantly bothered the Villa, and his link-up play with Tevez was excellent.

Tevez was City’s man of the match, and featured on the score sheet by scoring two neat goals. He capped a very convincing performance and continues to impress.
Edin Dzeko – 8
The Bosnian came on in the second half and gave City a different dimension in attack. He was unable to score his usual impact goal, but was highly involved in City’s fifth.
