Manchester City Carlos Tevez is the Argentine Prophet says Diego Maradona

“Carlos Tevez is the Argentine Prophet for the 21st Century” – Diego Maradona

From the rugged streets of Buenos Aires to the glamorous platform of football—this is Carlos Tevez's journey looks like. He has not only claimed the trust of a prestigious European club, but also his own countrymen. He has represented Argentina in 50 international matches. Furthermore, the La Albiceleste forward is one of Diego Maradona’s apples of the eye when it comes to winning games.

The 25-year old Manchester City forward knows how to hurdle tough challenges to be successful. He has a huge scar that runs from his neck to the right ear then goes straight to the chest, which is a reminder of a childhood accident that took him under intensive care  for several months. Tevez refused the offer of having the scar surgically repaired and told everyone that that wound is a part of his past that made him what he is right now.
Tevez is an all-around player who knows the fundamentals of football and has mastered some of them. He is very fierce in attacking the opponent’s defence and is also an aggressive forward.

Going through many adversities at an early age, the young Tevez grew strong and saw the first light of football competition in 1992 for All Boys. His professional career started with Boca Juniors in 2001. Prior to that, he was part of the youth system of the team that underwent rigorous trainings from 1997-2001. While in this club, Tevez bagged several championships like Copa Sudamericana, Copa Libertadores and International Cup in 2003.

After nearly three years with Boca Juniors, he went to Corinthians for a £13.7 million worth of transfer and £6.85 million 5-year contract. This deal was regarded as the biggest transfer in the history of football in South America. With this team, he was awarded the Brazilian Football Confederation best player award. Since 1976, he was the only non-Brazilian to have achieved that recognition.  And in 2005, he brought glory to the team by helping them win the 2005 Campeonato Brasiliero.

In August of 2006, Tevez confirmed reports of his transfer to West Ham United after agreeing to a £12 million contract. His stay within this club was short-lived though because he resigned in 2007. Soon after, he inked a deal with the European giant Manchester United and became the substitute for the then-injured star player Wayne Rooney.

While with this club, he was able to become a part of the team that has copped the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 Premier League title, 2008 FA Community Shield crown, 2007-2008 UEFA Champions League, 2008 FIFA Club World Cup and 2008-2009 Football League Cup.

But despite his excellent performance and the fans who were clamoring to sign him permanently with Manchester United, the team manager refused to do so. This prompted the dissatisfaction of Tevez and made him decide to transfer to another club, Manchester City. With this move, he became the only player after Terry Crooke in 1999, to have played for two  Manchester squads.

In the 2004 Athens Olympics, he was awarded with the Golden Boot Award after scoring a total of eight goals in just six matches. The Argentinean Nationall Football Team and Carlos Tevez also bagged the Gold Medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Carlos Tevez was recently elected as man of the match in their Last 16 game against the Mexican squad after powering Argentina to a 3-1 victory. Tevez nailed in two of the three goals of the team at the 26th and 52nd minute of the game. Higuain was responsible for the other one. The win guaranteed them a slot in the quarter finals and will face another formidable team that is having a spectacular performance in this year’s FIFA World Cup—Joachim Low’s German Team. Germany will be led by their two veteran warriors Misrolav Klose and Thomas Mueller.
