Manchester City have gone on to accept the four match ban handed to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 by the English FA and have decided not to contest the decision.
The FA confirmed that Balotelli would be handed a four match ban, following a stomp on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker’s head.
Balotelli was not cautioned or shown any cards during the Premier League game, but following a review of his actions by the governing body, it was felt that the player’s actions may have been intentional.
City had till Wednesday evening to contest for the decision, but they opted to go ahead and accept it any way.
One of the prime reasons for City not wanting to appeal the ban, was because http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184 was banned in a similar manner. The defender was shown a red card in a game, which City contested but the FA ruled against the team.
There was more evidence to prove Kompany was innocent, as compared to Balotelli and with the team failing to get a decision in favour of their captain, they felt it would be useless to appeal for the Italian striker.
As a result, Balotelli already went on to miss out a Carling Cup game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019, Fulham and Aston Villa.
Balotelli’s agent was furious with the FA’s decision to ban the player and went on to label Howard Webb as a coward for changing his mind when he was put under the microscope. The referee didn’t caution the player during the game, but once the FA inquired,
he went on to take back his decision altogether.
Despite being treated unfairly, the striker has admitted that he won’t use this to move out of the club. Balotelli has finally started enjoying life in the Premier League and he is now looking to settle down at the club for good.
During the player’s absence, City will have to opt to use just one striker, as they try and avoid injuries to the two strikers left at the club.
However, what can be said assuredly, is that these four games will prove just how important the Italian is to City.
