Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini: Joe Hart is the best goalkeeper in England
The 23-year-old England international Joe Hart revealed he wanted to remain at Manchester City and was not considering a move away despite various rumours. He has been exceptional this season which has led to speculation that he might be tempted to move
away from Eastlands. Hart has managed to keep an impressive 14 clean sheets in 31 appearances in the English Premier League.
Hart revealed he was more than contented at the Eastlands and wished to remain there in the near future. He said while speaking to reporters, “If I was given the opportunity I would not hesitate in committing myself to this club. Lots can happen in football
I suppose but at this moment I am taking it season by season.”
He has earned praise from various pundits, fans and most importantly Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini. The City number one however, did not let any of it get to his head and insisted he still had a long way to go to be considered a top goal keeper.
He continued, “I do not consider myself to be a top keeper just yet. I still have a long way to go before I could be considered in that way.”
The Italian manager revealed it was a tough decision choosing Hart over the more experienced Shay Given, but felt he had made the right choice. He said, “It was very difficult for me at the start of the season when I had to decide who to pick because we
had two fantastic goalkeepers. The reason I picked Joe was I felt he could become the best goalkeeper in England - and he has.”

After two seasons away on loan Hart was preparing to return to Manchester City when he was once again sent out on loan, this time to Birmingham City. Then-manager Mark Hughes felt the youngster was not ready to play for City and preferred the former Newcastle
United goal keeper Shay Given over him. While at Birmingham, Hart made a total of 41 appearances and earned the Birmingham City’s Player of the Year award.

then and in 43 appearances this season, he has only conceded 13 goals.
