Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes the FA Cup is within reach
Manchester City manager Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 believes that his side has what it takes to go all the way to the FA Cup title this season, provided the players can handle the pressure in the semi-final against Manchester United.
City are within touching distance of their first FA cup trophy since 1976. A win over United on Sunday will see them progress to the final of the tournament; a feat which they haven’t achieved in more than 30 years. However, getting past Manchester United
and into the final is easier said than done.
The Red Devils have had a near flawless season so far, at least in terms of results, and they are on track to win the treble of the FA cup, the Premier League and the Champions League titles. United fans will see their ‘noisy neighbours’ as just another
obstacle to overcome, but if the Red Devils aren’t careful, Manchester City could turn out to be the alarm clock that spoils United’s dreams of a treble winning season.
Historically, Manchester United are the more successful club between the two bitter rivals; however, City have never had a stronger squad than they do currently. Manager Roberto Mancini believes that his current crop of players is more than capable of ending
the club’s long standing trophy drought, but he knows that his charges face a difficult task at Wembley.
Speaking ahead of the match, the Italian urged the squad to keep their cool in the semi-final. He said, “All my players should understand very well that this is a big moment for us. The first trophy is the hardest but it is time for City to win something.
I know we have improved a lot.”
He added, “The important thing is that we don't go there and think about the enormity of the game. We cannot afford for our heads to get full with the occasion.”
Manchester City and Manchester United will clash in the semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley on Sunday, 17th April.
