Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini claims he wants to emulate Manchester United's success at Eastlands
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has asserted that he wants to emulate the success of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United. The Citizens boss hailed the efforts of Sir Alex Ferguson in making Manchester United such a successful club and claimed
that he wants to follow in the footsteps of the legendary United manager.
Roberto Mancini said, “I have respect for Manchester United because they have won everything for many years. To begin with, they won a single trophy after a long time with nothing. Now we are in the same position. We can go on to do what United have done.
We have a chance tomorrow [Saturday] and for this we should be happy.”
Roberto Mancini will go head-to-head with his mentor’s Manchester United in the semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley and the Italian is confident that first trophy for City would open gates for the successful years to come.
However, despite over £100 million invested on the Manchester City squad by the super-rich Sheikh Mansour, the Blues have once again failed to impress this season. Although, they are almost certain to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, they still have
to deliver the silverware at Eastlands.
Manchester City have now set their sights on reaching the FA Cup final for the first time since 1981 and ending their 35-year trophy drought when they will face their city rivals Manchester United in the last four of the competition. Roberto Mancini feels
that his men have what it takes to emerge victors in the semi-final at Wembley Stadium.

The Italian said, “After 15 months I am very happy in my job because I know how difficult it is to build a team to win trophies.”
For the first time, the Manchester derby will be played outside its geographical location at London and both teams will be looking to end each other’s pre-season dream of winning the FA Cup.
