Manchester City decide to say no to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 over Micah Richards
It seems like Liverpool’s madness didn’t quite stop at signing Andy Carroll for a whopping thirty five million pounds last night. It has been reported by numerous sources, that Liverpool went on to make an audacious bid to try and land Manchester City’s full-back Micah Richards.
Liverpool went on to land Luis Suarez, for almost twenty three million pounds from Ajax and then landed Andy Carroll from Newcastle for thirty five million pounds. The team seemed to be more than content with those players, but still tried their luck at landing Charlie Adam from Blackpool late on, however that bid was turned down by the team.
The players to part ways with Liverpool were http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 for a whopping fifty million pounds.
However, Kenny Dalglish was plotting on spending some of the left over cash from the Torres deal on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Micah-Richards-c25259, but was blatantly turned down by Manchester City.
The right back position is one that has been under great pressure at Anfield. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050 was the previous first choice player to play in that spot, but with Kelly in the team, Johnson has been switched to the leftback role.
Kelly, despite being a decent full-back, still has a lot of work cut out ahead of him to prove himself. He has often appeared to be the weakest link, in an already weak Liverpool side and has been the source of attack for the opposing players. As a result, Kenny Dalglish was hoping to bring in Richards to provide some stability to the backline and get it on par with the offence.
Nonetheless, City considered Liverpool’s bid for the twenty two year old player to be nothing short of a joke and as a result, they turned down the offer after showing no interest even if the team came back with an improved offer for the player.
Richards was also involved in some speculation regarding the player’s potential move to Italian Serie A side, Juventus. Nonetheless, those deals also turned out to be nothing more than just rumors and Richards is still a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Citizen-c38808.
However with Richards previously having stated that he might consider a move away from the club, earlier on in the season, it is still rumored that the player might be on the move in the summers. At the moment as it stands, Liverpool will be the new favorites to land the player if that does happen.
