Manchester City defender and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Micah-Richards-c25259, have expressed his utmost desire to play the FA Cup Semi-Finals against their bitter rivals Manchester United. Both the teams will lock horns at Wembley on the 16 of April.
Richards injured himself while playing against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 in an Under-21 clash last Thursday. The defender admitted that the injury is a bit worse than expected and fears that it might rule him out of the all important clash.
Reports suggested that the defender is set to undergo a scan which would reveal the intensity of his injury. On the other hand, Richards showed his commitment by saying that he would sleep in an oxygen chamber in order to make himself available for the high
voltage tie. He further stated that, "I will do anything and everything to make that game. I knew straight away what I had done because I heard the dreaded ‘ping’. It is a bit sore but I’m hoping it is not too bad.”
He did confirm that the game against Manchester United would be a great occasion in English football. He further expressed that he wants to be fully fit for the fixture and take part in what could turn out to be a ‘big’ match in their campaign.
The 22-year-old mentioned that there are many other players who have recovered by spending time in an oxygen chamber and he would also want to apply the same method to get himself fit. He added that, “Some of the other lads have used an oxygen tent to help
them recover more quickly from injuries so I am willing to give it a go. I will sleep in the thing if necessary. I want to be available for that game against United. It is going to be a great occasion."
Richards came to the City of Manchester in 2005 and since then, the defender has appeared one hundred and fifty seven times for the club so far which also saw him scoring nine goals for the Citizens.
Manchester City are currently fourth in the English Premier League with fifty three points while their rivals, Manchester United are leading the League with sixty three points.
