Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has heaped praise on young defender Dedryck Boyata for his solid comeback performance against Sunderland on Sunday.
Kompany showed sympathy towards his fellow countryman Boyata for missing the major chunk of the ongoing 2010-11 season due to injuries. Kompany added that Boyata is hugely respected by his teammates and the 20-year-old has a bright future ahead of him.
Manchester City beat Sunderland 5-0 at the City of Manchester Stadium on Sunday and Kompany is delighted for Boyata, who was playing in just his third game of the campaign.
“Dedryck is unbelievable because he didn’t play for a long time and he is someone that the team has a lot of respect for because when he comes in he always delivers. And it is not only the easy games where he comes in.  He has played in the most difficult
games the club has had in the last few years and delivered,” Kompany told club’s official website.
Boyata made his full debut for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Finland-c2898 in October 2010. He won Manchester City’s Young Player of the Year award in the 2009-10 season but injuries have curtailed his development in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Kompany has no doubts that the young defender has everything in him to become a world-class defender.
“I’m not worried about Dedryk because he always wants to improve. He’s been injured for a bit and you could think he’ll be forgotten about but here he is today and people realise he is actually a really good player,” said Kompany.
Kompany went onto praise his defensive partnership with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joleon-Lescott-c18941 after the duo ensured their third clean sheet in last four games. The 24-year-old added that both of them are complementing each other very well and are improving the standards.
The former Hamburger defender added that they continually push each other for not making mistakes and that makes them stronger.
