Manchester City have gone on to deny rumours which claim that Edin Dzeko is on the brink of completing a move to Italian giants AC Milan.
Over the last couple of weeks, Edin Dzeko has constantly been linked with a move away from City, with AC Milan set to be his preferred destination.
Sead Susic, who happens to be Dzeko’s representative, went on to claim that the move was seventy percent complete and the Forward would soon be on his way to the Italian Serie A.
However, City have now felt the need to step in and clear the air, since they feel that a lot of false rumours have started to float about in recent weeks and they could have an impact on the fans.
A club statement, which talked about the situation involving Dzeko’s move to Milan read: "The club have no knowledge of the so called spokesman Mr Susic, nor has it given a mandate to any third party to discuss the transfer of Edin Dzeko, who remains a Manchester City player."
Following his move to the Etihad Stadium in January 2011, Dzeko has found it rather hard to secure a first team spot with the team. Despite him scoring ample goals for the team, his consistency has had the best of him and this seems to have caused him to fall down the pecking order.
The Manchester based club were also believed to be in the hunt for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, who revealed that he wasn’t extending his stay with the Gunners.
This link potentially gave birth to the Dzeko exit rumours, since no team is going to want to have five world class strikers amongst them.
There were also some rumours which claimed that Dzeko could move to Arsenal, with Van Persie heading the other way, but so far no rumour has really started to take shape.
It is now going to be another extended wait till the future of another player, associated with Manchester City is decided. Should the past be anything to go by, Dzeko is going to be in a fight for his life to save his career.
