Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez still a priority for Corinthians
Manchester City striker and Argentine forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez has been on the brink of leaving the Eastlands, for quite some time now. The player was being linked to moves to either Inter Milan or Corinthians.
When it came down to just the two clubs, it seemed like Corinthians would be able to get the nod over the Italian side and this in turn would see Tevez return to South America and be closer to his family, than he has in recent years.
Nonetheless, with City demanding around forty million for the forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corinthians-c38855 were forced to rethink their strategy to land the player. However, they went on to agree to the fee, but were only willing to pay it in parts. This offer did not sit well
with City, who turned down the Brazilian club. As a result, Tevez is still a City player – for now.
The Brazilian team missed out on going back in for an offer for the player, mainly because of the fact that the Brazilian transfer window closed, before they could re-launch an offer. Despite that fact, the team still seems to be interested in the forward
and are now looking to make an offer for him in January.
The Corinthians club chief, when talking about Tevez and his team’s ambitions to land him, is quoted to have said:"You can expect us to go after him again"
He then went on to talk about what he thought caused City to not sell the player, as he went on to conclude, by stating:
"I think [our offer] was €5 million (£4.4m) [too low]. But we would still have to deal with Tevez; we did not [get] to because we still needed to reach a settlement with the City"
City recently went on to complete the signing of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero from Atletico Madrid. The forward, in theory is going to be playing in exactly the same position as Carlos Tevez and that can only mean, that Tevez is going to be allowed to leave, should a decent
offer be made for the player.
Despite having sat in the back seat over the last few weeks, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan are now pursuing Tevez with great ambition. The team is set to talk to the City officials over the weekend, in hopes that they could strike up a deal and see the forward make his way
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926.
Should that happen, Corinthians can pretty much forget about landing the forward, but if he is still at City by January, he might just be back on his way to South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390.
