Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart praises Emmanuel Adebayor
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has said that Emmanuel Adebayor is capable of causing damage to any team when his head is in the right place.
The Togolese striker was in outstanding form as he grabbed three goals in a 3-1 victory over Polish outfit Lech Poznan in the UEFA Europa League group stage on Thursday, 21 October.
While his performance was impressive, the 26-year-old has found such heights in his City career hard to come by since his £25m switch from Arsenal as he has found himself in and out of the first team.
However, his hat-trick has put him in line for a starting place against his former club at Eastland in the English Premier League on Sunday.
In an in interview with talkSport, England international Hart told Adebayor to ignore all other distractions and focus on playing well to win back a regular place in the team.
Hart said that: "Ade was brilliant [against Poznan]. If he wants to, he wins the game, simple as that. It's all about getting his head down and his head was spot on and he pulled us through when we needed goals. The first goal was sensational and if he can
repeat that on Sunday [against Arsenal] that will be great."
'Silva makes football look easy'
The goalkeeper also hailed 2010 FIFA World Cup winner David Silva for his role in the win over Poznan. Silva arrived at City over the summer from Valencia and while he has taken some time to settle into life with the Citizens, he has started to show why
City were so keen to sign him with a string of strong displays.
Hart said that: “Silva makes football look very easy. He’s come in from Spain and done great. He’s not the biggest and a few people might have wondered if he was ready for the Premier League. But he’s proved he is."
