Manchester City hammer Liverpool FC, all set to become toughest team in EPL
Manchester City has come in this EPL season with all guns roaring. The new management coupled with a courageous owner has given the team a new perspective and energy to outdo every other team in the competition.
In a recent match, Manchester City scored 3 goals against Liverpool, just to prove their case. It was a moment of joy for the club’s new billionaire owner, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan. The sheikh watched the match live and loved the way his football club performed. Roberto Mancini’s squad outclassed its opponent in each and every department of the game and proved that Manchester City had the ability to win this Premier League season in a dominant way.
Two goals from the Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez and one goal from Gareth Barry proved to be too much for a beleaguered Liverpool team. This heavy defeat is certainly a sign of disappointment for Liverpool and as well as for their newly hired manager Roy Hodgson. The Liverpool squad seemed disturbed and their coach found things a little too difficult to settle with the right plan for the match. Hodgson tried to unleash Fernando Torres in the match but all his efforts seemed to be going in vain.
Liverpool’s squad combines talent with technique but the team was missing out on a winning strategy. Talented players like Argentinean player Javier Mascherano can help the Liverpool squad and can change the condition of a match at anytime. However, new inductee Roy Hodgson is still keen to experiment with the squad and his strategies. One thing to remember is that Mascherano might leave the club. Most probably, the Argentinean striker is willing to join Spanish football giants Barcelona FC. While highlighting the issue, Hodgson told the media that Mascherano wants to leave Liverpool but his case is still being negotiated. Later, the manager added that the transfer will only take place when the bidding Barcelona club will approach Liverpool’s management.
But with all things said, Manchester City completely outclassed Liverpool. It was an exciting and thrilling competition in all aspects of the game. City aggressively attacked from the start of the match. The 13th minute of the game saw James Milner passing the ball to Barry after realizing an open space in the penalty area. Barry stroked the ball powerfully but his shot missed the goal. As the half time was fast approaching, it was Liverpool’s turn to attack. Steven Gerrard fired two shots at Manchester City’s goal but missed. The first goal of the match was netted by Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez in the sixth minute of the second half. The match got even excited as both teams continued with an attacking mode. The third and the decisive goal came from Carlos Tevez once again as a result of a powerful strike.
This victory at the start of the new Premier League season is definitely a special victory and a sign of relief for Manchester City. After the match, James Milner opined that it was a wonderful win for him and for his team. Milner added that Liverpool has always been a very tough rival and winning against them demands a great effort from the team. While talking about his clubs performance, Milner believed that he is feeling very lucky to be a part of Manchester City. Moreover, he believed that City has proved that it is one of the best English football clubs.
