Javi Garcia’s agent has gone on to insist that Manchester City are yet to make contact with Benfica over the transfer of the midfielder and has gone on to dismiss all the rumours linking the player with a move to the club.
With news floating about that City are considering letting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigel-de-Jong-c27882 leave the team, many believe that they are only doing this, so that they can bring in another player to replace him.
As a result, the team has been linked with Garcia, who has playing rather well for Benfica. Having played for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 once, the midfielder seems to be ready to move to a team in the Premier League and so far, it seemed like that team was Manchester City.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 over the possibility of a transfer.
He insisted that the player is still a Benfica midfielder and will stay there till a team actually tries to pursue him.
When talking about the former Real Madrid player, Garcia’s agent is quoted to have said: "I have had no contact from [Manchester] City. No-one has called me.”
"I have no proposal from England about Javi. He renewed with Benfica and we have nothing more to say.”
“We do not have any club interested in him. He will continue at Benfica."
City already have a decent midfield and De Jong has been playing rather well for the team since his move to the club.
The Dutch international went on to claim that he loves the club and doesn’t plan on leaving them any time soon.
Nonetheless, the team seems to know just what they want to do in the future and how they want to improve their squad.
This offloading of players could allow other teams to benefit, as they pick up players like De Jong on the cheap, while City continue to spend over the top to perfect their team.
It is now a wait to see if the team actually steps up their interest in the Benfica player or not.
