Manchester City keeper Joe Hart pays tribute to teammate Carlos Tevez
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has praised Forward Carlos Tevez’s goal scoring form, but at the same time has asked other strikers to share his load.
The Argentinean striker's goal scoring form has been very impressive this season. He scored 9 goals and made 4 assists. The second highest goal scorer behind Tevez is Mario Balotelli and Yaya Toure. However, Emmanuel Adebayor has
been the major disappointment.
Both of them managed to score twice this season. Unhappy striker Emmanuel Adebayor has scored only one goal. Although the Togolese has put the ball past keeper only once this season, but he has a wonderful hat-trick to his credit.
Another striker, Jo, who was once a record signing in July 2008, has failed to open his account in the Premier League. The Brazilian cost City around £19 million.
The 23-year-old keeper says that his team is being portrayed as a one-man show because Tevez has been carrying the responsibility on his shoulders alone. His performances have been so dominant that it stands above all other teammates
performances.
Hart said, "We're trying to help Carlos. He realises it's not all on his shoulders. We have to create passes for him to score, and he creates passes for the other boys. It's starting to come together.”
Hart heaped special praise for the Spanish playmaker David Silva for his impressive performance in a draw against Stoke City. He believes that the Spaniard showed great character and ran the show on Saturday.
The England number 1 emphasized the importance of Tevez and reckoned he is a very important player for the club.
City could be heading to the knockout stage of Europa League if they beat Salzburg on Wednesday, but Hart wants to do it again in their final group match against Juventus.
Hart said, “We have to look forward to Wednesday now and try to take the positives from our last couple of performances. We have two group games to go and want to win them both. Even if we qualify this week, we will go into
the Juve game wanting to win it.”
He thinks that people might say that if they qualify at an early stage they will have time to relax, but the 23-year-old does not agree. He wants to keep the momentum going, as the players are fit and strong.
Giving respect to his opponents, Joe believes that Salzburg will give them a hard time and it will be a difficult game. Although they managed to get a win at home, but City will have to repeat that performance.
