Manchester City looking to invest in youth academy – Premier League Update
It has been reported that Manchester City are finally ready to go all out and invest in a state of the art, over the top youth academy set-up.
The current plans that the club have issued would see around seventy two players be given accommodation on the facilities, while there would be classrooms for two hundred students in total. Sixteen pitches would be included in the overall structure and the
best rehabilitation facilities would be provided to the youngsters.
In order to help the youth get a feel of just what they are going to be getting into, a seven thousand seater stadium would be built, just for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787 to play on.
Brian Marwood, who happens to be the Chief Football Operations Officer, has gone on to admit that this could be the best and most important investment that the club are going to be making.
Marwood, when talking about the club’s plans is quoted to have said: "This could be the most important investment the club has ever made under its new ownership.

"This is part of a 10-year strategy for long-term sustainable success.”
Marwood then admitted that in order for the team to be able to progress into this phase of building a youth academy, they had to win the FA Cup and enter the Champions league, like they did last season.

"Phase one culminated in the club winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the Champions League last season. This signals the beginning of the next phase.

"We know that youth development has to be at the heart of this club. Investment in the transfer market has helped us reach a certain level, to stay there will take investment in player development, welfare and top-class facilities.”
This move made by City to go into the business of developing youth players is a rather smart one and has most probably left most of the footballing world in shock. The club was believed to be a buying team and as a result, no one really expected them to
ever look towards developing younger players.
At the moment a majority of the team consists of players who have been bought for over the top fees, but as it stands, it seems like the club was looking to resolve their immediate future, only to go ahead and build for the future on the long run.
All in all, it seems like City are finally developing into a team that are going to leave their mark on the world of football on the long run.
