Manchester City looking to test Everton’s resolve over Leighton Baines
Manchester City are looking to test Everton’s resolve over full-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and
Bayern Munich have all been looking to snap up the twenty-six-year-old. However, City are hoping their massive offer will get them the upper-hand once the transfer market opens up once again.
At the moment, Baines is on a five year contract with Everton. The option of playing in Europe, along with a massive pay raise, could get the player to re-think his future and maybe even push for a move to the Eastlands to go through.
Baines has managed to emerge from his shell this term and he has gone on to win over countless people with his tantalising performances. Despite being a left-back, the player usually tends to run up the field and support his team’s offensive unit. Baines
possesses the ability to bend in unstoppable crosses and makes some of the best over-lapping runs that have been displayed in the Premier League. Along with that, the player’s new found ability to take a lethal set-piece have made him all the more dangerous
then he already is.
So far this season, Baines has gone on to make forty one appearances for the Toffees, while scoring seven goals along the way and picking up a number of assists.
Now should City land Baines, it could potentially mark the end of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandar-Kolarov-c4475, or officially see him make the jump from full-back to winger, in order to create space for Baines in the City squad. The poor form displayed by the likes of Jerome Boateng
and Kolarov at the left-back position are one of the prime reasons for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 wanting to invest in Baines.
At the moment David Moyes is going to be more than just reluctant to let go of one of his brightest players. However considering the fact that Everton are yet to complete their payments to the banks, he might be forced into selling the player and with him
getting a half decent replacement in the shape of Wayne Bridge, it might just be the best route for the manager to take.
Nonetheless, should City manage to land their man at the end of the season, the City squad could virtually be the most complete squad on paper, with ample depth and substitutes available for almost every single player.
