Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini not sure about Carlos Tevez’s future at Eastlands
Manchester City’s manager, Roberto Mancini has gone on to state that he is not so sure about Carlos Tevez’s future at Manchester City any longer and feels that irrelevant of what happens with the team regarding their Champions League qualification, the player
is bound to be on his way out.
Tevez, who joined City from Manchester United, amidst countless speculations, rumours and controversies at the start of the 2009 season, has been a stand out performer at the Eastlands ever since he made the move.
So far the player has gone on to make eighty appearances for the club and has managed to find the back of the net on fifty-one occasions. As a result, it is easy to see the impact that Tevez has on the side. In fact he has been such a great influence at
the club, that he is the team’s current captain.
Nonetheless, despite that fact, Tevez has never appeared to be settled in at the club. Despite having performed at the highest of levels when on the pitch, it is off the pitch where all the drama takes place.
When the player went on to hand in a transfer request earlier this season and then stated that he was ready to quit football altogether, it became apparent that there was trouble in paradise.
Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323, who had on a number of occasions in the past gone on to state that Tevez’s future at the club was secure, has also finally given way and is reported to have said:
“We need to talk with Carlos [about staying], but we have time to do this, at the moment, the two most important things are to win the FA Cup and finish in the top four. It’s more important to know when Carlos can play. Hopefully after we win the FA Cup
and get in the Champions League we can talk about his position. I don’t think it depends on getting into the Champions League, no. But we know how important it is that we finish in the top four and win the FA Cup, for the club”.
The manager’s words, if anything make it seem more than apparent that Tevez is destined to leave the team once the season comes to an end.
However, the fact that City might be playing in Champions League football and could even be lifting silverware at the end of the season – marking an end to City’s trophy drought, which has lasted over thirty years.
Nonetheless, if the player just doesn’t feel at peace at the club, it seems irrelevant that anything is going to convince him to stick around for much longer. At the moment http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan are believed to be firm favourites to land the player, if he decides
to part ways with the club at the end of the current season.
