Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini says his side will finish season strongly
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that his side will produce a strong finish to the ongoing 2010-11 Barclays Premier League campaign.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 has been critical of his side’s congested fixture list in the past, claiming on more than a few occasions that his players have been left exhausted thanks to the busy schedule. The Italian sees City’s Europa League exit as a blessing in disguise, saying that the easing fixture list will result in better performances in the remaining games of the season.
Speaking on the matter, Mancini said, “The players are looking fresher. We had problems when we played every three days. Now most of the players are available and that is important."
The Italians words were certainly backed up by his players on the pitch. The Sky Blues completely demolished Sunderland in the Premier League recently, winning 5-0 at home to remain on track for a top four finish.
Mancini added, “All the team played well against Sunderland. To score five goals from five different players was good for us. We played well because the players were rested. Our mentality should be the same whether we are at home or away. We can improve, we can score more goals."
He added, “There were times we were really tired because we had a number of injured players.”
Despite a recent dip in form, Manchester City are still on course to make the current campaign a successful one. Though they have been knocked out of the Europa League, the Sky Blues are through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and are currently third in the Premier League standings.
If things go according to plan for Roberto Mancini, City could possibly win their first FA cup title in more than 40 years. There is also a slight chance that the Sky Blues could still overcome Manchester United in the race for the Premier League title, though even the most optimistic of Manchester City fans would not bet on that happening.
Manchester City are currently gearing up for their vital Premier League clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 on Monday, 11th April, at Anfield.
