Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini wants his team to end up EPL runners-up
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini set his sight on the English Premier League runner-up spot after his team gave a devastating defeat to Sunderland on Sunday, which secured them a third place spot in the Premier League table ahead of Chelsea.
On Sunday at Eastlands, it was the night that fully belonged to Blues, who by thrashing Sunderland 5-0 have lifted their hopes of coming closer to Manchester United. Manchester City are now only three points behind Arsenal.
The 46-year-old Mancini, while applauding his team performance, said, “It was important for us to win this game for many reasons - we went into third position. We can be runners-up. It was an important weekend - a big weekend will be when we win something.”

For Blues, the confidence is sky high after thrashing Sunderland in their home ground. It was raining goals for City on Sunday, where their key players including Johnson, Tevez, Silva, Vieira and Toure Yaya scored a goal each for their team.
