Manchester City midfielder Owen Hargreaves has gone on to admit that, prior to joining City, he had some serious doubts about his future.
The player felt that following all his injuries, he might never be able to play football again. However, he has gone on to reveal that it was the medical professionals who were looking after him, that convinced him to being able to play as a professional
once again.
Hargreaves when talking about his return to fitness and how he felt like quitting during his injuries is, is quoted to have said: “I think there were times where it looked pretty bleak to be honest”
“But I had spoken to some of the best medical people and asked them 'am I barking up the wrong tree? It's been ridiculous the last three years,' and they said 'no, you've got football left in you,' so I believe that too and it's nice to hear from them, and
it's just about doing things in the right order.

"In the last few weeks, like I said, I've been great, and I'm happy."

The thirty year old was previously employed by Manchester United, but during his three years at the club, he managed to only produce five performances for the team. As a result, United decided to part ways with the player and made him a free agent.
Following UEFA’s fair play rules, City decided to make a move for the midfielder, in order to add depth to their squad and to meet all the new criteria’s set by UEFA.
Hargreaves went on to make his debut for City last night and he seemed to finally be back to his best. Apart from playing sixty minutes in the Carling Cup, he scored the opening goal for the team and marked his return with a bang.
All in all, it seems like Hargreaves is set to impress for City – as long as he doesn’t get sidelined once again.
