Why Manchester City players think that they should start thinking positive? Can someone tell me the story behind that?

Manchester City were so negative on Wednesday - it was as if they were playing with the handbrake on. Conceding late goals in previous derby games seemed to make them determined not to lose and they showed barely any ambition. Remember how passionate and direct Craig Bellamy was in the derbies last season? That is what City lacked - any sort of urgency or pride. There were times when Kolo Toure had the ball at the back and you were just desperate to see him bring it into midfield.
