Manchester City ready to swoop for Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez
Udinese winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexis-Sánchez-c4979 is all set to leave the Serie A club in the summer with a host of clubs across Europe interested in acquiring his services. A tug of war is expected between Europe’s elite clubs with Manchester City
ready to break the bank to land the talented playmaker.
Sanchez has been continuously linked with a move away from Udinese and the winger now looks set to move in the summer. He is dubbed as the South American http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 due to similarity in style of both players. Sanchez was one of the star performers at
the World Cup finals and is valued in excess of £30 million.
The 22-year-old Chilean international is having a dream season in the Serie A with a string of impressive displays and has become something of a cult hero in Italy for his trickery, pace, and explosive strikes. The player’s agent confirmed to media representatives
that Sanchez will be leaving the Bianconeri in June, 2011.
“The club and Alexis have agreed that the player will leave the club in June,” Fernando Felicevich told reporters. “He is having a great season so let’s hope that continues and in the summer Alexis will make the right decision.”
Answering questions on the player’s transfer prospects and which club would the Chilean prefer, the agent said, “It is impossible to say at this time. Alexis will look at his options in June, but he is open to all suggestions.”
Sanchez is valued by his club in the region of £30-35 million and is one of Roberto Mancini’s top targets. He is still learning his trade, but the 22-year-old was one of the finest young players at last year's World Cup in South Africa.
His teammate at Udinese, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Di-Natale-c6306 believes Sanchez can become a football great. However, di Natale somewhat ruled out the possibility of the 22-year-old moving outside of Italy, mentioning three Italian clubs where he thinks Sanchez would excel.
“Alexis can play very well as a regular for a big club. He is a great footballer and moreover he is only 22. He can still grow. He is a player who can become the No 1 in the world. I have always repeated it. He could easily be
a regular first team player at Inter, Milan or Juve,” said di Natale while speaking to the media.
However, keeping in mind the reputation of Manchester City when splashing cash in transfer windows, it won't be surprising to see the Citizens successfully luring the player to Eastlands in the summers.
