Manchester City reject claims of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003’s Ezequiel Lavezzi
Manchester City have gone on to dismiss any and all talks that have linked City midfielder, Gareth Barry being used as a make weight in an attempt for the Citizens to land Napoli forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323’s manager, Giorgio De Giorgis of all people was the person to come forth and give birth to these rumours. He stated that Barry’s time at the Eastlands was up and that the only way he could be of any use to the club, was to be used as part
of a deal to try and land the Argentine striker from Napoli.
In response to those comments, City have decided to come ahead and officially state that De Giorgis has no stake in the club, or its transfer dealings, despite him representing Mancini.
A spokesperson from City is quoted to have said: "Mr Giorgis is not mandated by the football club to deal with transfers in or out of Manchester City"
The same official then went on to dismiss any and all rumours that were linking Barry with a potential move out of the club, as he went on to add: "Furthermore, there is no intention to sell Gareth Barry, who remains a valued member of the team"
Over the last couple of seasons, Barry has been a regular member of the City starting eleven. The midfielder has been dictating play in the middle of the park for the park at the Eastlands and last season, he was part of the City squad that finally went
on to end a thirty five year trophy drought, as City went on to end their thirty five year trophy chase.
Despite the likes of Yaya Toure coming into the side, Barry still seems to be an integral part at the Eastlands. The midfielder has now dropped a little deeper and now plays like the pivot, upon which the rest of the team operates.
With those comments, what we can say assuredly, is that Barry is going nowhere this summer. However, there is still the question of what is happening with City and Lavezzi.
The Argentine striker has been linked with a move to the Eastlands for a couple of weeks now and from the way things are shaping up, City might just go ahead and make a formal offer for the forward as early as next week.
The forward is valued at around twenty million pounds and City would be more than willing to pay that fee, to secure the forwards services.
