Manchester City rubbish http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 rumours
One of the richest clubs in the world, Manchester City have recently been linked with a big-money move for Real Madrid striker, Cristiano Ronaldo. But the English club has denied the rumours and labelled them baseless.
Earlier, there were reports in the media making rounds that Manchester City were preparing a record bid for the Real Madrid forward in the coming transfer window. The club is owned by Abu Dhabi based Business group and they were expected to make a bid worth
150 million pounds.
Manchester City have managed to make it into UEFA Champions League for the first time, and will start their debut campaign next term. That is a big reason why they are expected to bring in big players not just with the pull of their cash, but also with the
lure of European football.
However, City have reacted quickly to distance themselves from the move to sign former Manchester United star, who has been a big hit in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 in his first two seasons.
Senior officials at Eastlands said, "Speculation linking the club with Ronaldo is ill-informed and unfounded and nothing other than mischief-making. Whilst there is no doubt that Ronaldo is one of the world's greatest players, he is not on the club's list
of transfer targets."
Cristiano Ronaldo played for Manchester United from 2003 to 2009, and during his time, he won three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one Champions League crown. When he decided that he wanted to fulfill his childhood dream of playing for Real Madrid,
United reluctantly sold him off for 80 million pounds.
Wayne Rooney wants to play against Blackpool
In some other news coming from Manchester, Wayne Rooney has said that he does not want to sit out the final game of the season against Blackpool. Manchester United wrapped up the title last week with a draw against Blackburn and Sir Alex Ferguson is looking
to rest some of his key players ahead of the Champions League final against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
Wayne said that he wants to be on the field when the final whistle blows, and the team starts the celebration before the trophy is presented to them. He also said that he wants to be in playing mode and remain fit for the big final on 28th at
Wembley.
Manchester United will play Blackpool in the final game of the season, that is of not much significance to United but it is a big one for Blackpool. Earlier, Sir Alex had said that he would field a weaker team against Blackpool in order to rest key players
for the final. But that was met by criticism from different corners, as Blackpool is one of the teams fighting to avoid relegation and a weaker United team will give Blackpool advantage over other teams who will be fighting hard against other team’s best elevens
on the same day.
