Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez could face Manchester United, Birmingham’s Roger Johnson expected to return

Roberto Mancini hopeful on Carlos Tevez’s return
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini revealed he was confident striker Carlo Tevez would play a big role in City’s season, which he felt was far from over. The Argentine striker sustained an injury during City's 3-0 defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at Anfield and is
a doubt for the upcoming FA Cup semi-final clash against local rivals Manchester United.
Even though Tevez is expected to be out for at least two weeks before he returns to full fitness, Mancini did not clearly state if he planned to leave out the 27-year-old for the FA Cup clash.
The City boss said while speaking to reporters, “It will be very difficult for Saturday but he should be okay to return in two weeks.”
Tevez joined Manchester City from Manchester United in 2009 for an astronomical fee of £47 million. Since then, he has made a total of 80 appearances for City and scored 51 goals in all competitions, with 19 of those scored in 27 appearances in the Premier
League this season. With such an outstanding record and the fact that Tevez is City’s top goal scorer, his presence will be a big boost for the Citizens against Manchester United.
Roger Johnson expected back soon
Birmingham City are hopeful http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roger-Johnson-c31524, the 27-year-old English defender, will recover in time for the English Premier League clash against Sunderland over the weekend. The former Cardiff City player suffered a concussion during the fixture against Blackburn
Rovers last weekend and had to be taken off during half time, despite wanting to play on.
Birmingham boss Alex McLeish said while talking to reporters, “I had to drag Roger off. You know how he never wants to stop playing. He was just saying 'give me half-time', but I said 'no chance’. He had a bit of a rant and a rave, as he does. But I told
him there was no way I was going to compromise the health and safety of one of my most important players.”
McLeish felt he had made the right call in replacing Johnson during half time but was hopefully the player would be fully fit in time for the weekend clash. He continued, “The doctor felt there was concussion. Roger was a bit groggy but he will get over
it. We don't think it's too severe and hopefully he will get over it for the weekend.”
Johnson joined Birmingham City on a three year deal from Cardiff City in the summer of 2009 for a fee of £5 million. He quickly became a favorite at the club and since then has been irreplaceable; he has made 38 seasons for Birmingham this season and has
even managed to score 3 goals. If Birmingham City wish to improve their position in the Premier League table the presence of Johnson is necessary.
