Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor completes Real Madrid loan move
Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has joined Real Madrid on a six-month loan term, as confirmed by media reports.
Madrid were in desperate need of a new striker following the injury of consistent performer Gonzalo Higuain, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season. Real reserves a unilateral option of signing the player permanently,
once his loan deal expires at the end of the season.
"Real Madrid CF and Manchester City FC have reached a deal that will see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 play on loan for the former club. The player will remain at Real Madrid until the end of the current season, at which point the club hold
a unilateral option to purchase the player," read an official statement.
Adebayor had fallen out with the Manchester City manager owing to lack of first team football. The manager chose to play club captain Carlos Tevez this season and it was very likely that Adebayor would move away in the winter transfer
window. Furthermore, it was under Mark Hughes that Adebayor was signed in July 2009 and despite being an instant hit, the Togolese failed to make an impact under Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937
and Edin Dzeko, who are both strikers. The player was not chosen for the league match following his Europa League hat trick, which was followed by a statement from the player confirming his desire to leave Eastlands.
Jose Mourinho would be extremely delighted to have signed the 26-year-old and was delighted to know that the striker would be available to play in the UEFA Champions league. Most transfers take place in the summer transfer window,
as the players are cup tied but after confirming from the Madrid management, Mourinho gave the green signal and Adebayor is now all set to join the Los Blancos. It seems that the nightmare for the player is almost over until Real seal the deal for him in the
summer, once Higuain returns to full duty.
