Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor pleased to join Tottenham Hotspur

After a busy summer, Manchester City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Togo-c3022 international in his squad. After negotiations, Adebayor agreed to a move to White Hart Lane for a season.
Upon his arrival, the Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp admitted that while he was pleased to welcome Adebayor to the club, he was certain the player would have a hard time adjusting, especially with the supporters.
With the intense rivalry between the London sides, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, the supporters might not be too welcoming to a former Arsenal player. However, Adebayor was eager to win the fans over at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Togolese footballer admitted he had made a tough decision regarding the transfer since he had played for Arsenal for three-and-a-half years. However, he said he was looking forward to playing for the Spurs and hoped to do well.
Adebayor said while speaking to reporters:
“You have to be strong to decide to come to Tottenham, I played for three-and-a-half years for Arsenal and there's a lot of rivalry between Tottenham and Arsenal.
All I want is to play football and to enjoy myself and today I'm a Tottenham footballer, what I have to do is enjoy myself on and off the pitch.”
Adebayor arrives at a time when the Spurs are struggling in front of goal, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 all failed to impress last season. Their inconsistency forced Redknapp to look for another striker in the summer transfer window.
When the English manager approached Manchester City striker with an offer, Adebayor agreed straight away. The Togolese forward was aware he would get regular football opportunities and was keen to help the side achieve their targets.
Adebayor said:
“Harry Redknapp is a great manager and a great person. As a footballer it is really important to work with a person who really understands you, which is the key for me and he's one of the few who really understands me which is good for me.”
Adebayor revealed the manager had showed confidence in him by signing him, and he felt it would help him perform. The former Arsenal striker revealed he was certain Tottenham Hotspur could manage a top four finish this season and qualify for the UEFA Champions
League.
The Spurs failed to finish in the top four last season, because of which they are currently competing in the UEFA Europa League, the second tier European competition. However, Adebayor was confident they would do better than last season.
