Manchester City have gone on to suffer a double transfer setback, as it seems like Edinson Cavani is not up for sale this summer and because Bayern Munich don’t seem to be interested in Edin Dzeko any longer.
For the last two seasons, City have been looking to make a move for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Edinson-Cavani-c11955, as they looked to add the Uruguayan forward to their team.
It was previously believed that the team could go on and complete the capture of the forward this season, but with Napoli insisting that the striker is not for sale any longer, City can’t do much about the move.
At the same time, the team can’t pay over the top to help change the Italian club’s mind, given the financial fair play rules that are being introduced by UEFA.
The team was previously hopping to off load Edin Dzeko and generate some funds with which to pursue new signings.
Bayern Munich were reportedly eyeing the striker, given the form that he showed in the German Bundesliga, back when he played there.
However, Munich now seem to be interested in other players and have hence gone on to completely cool off their interest in the Bosnian striker.
It is anybody’s guess as to why City are looking to offload Dzeko in the first place. In the first half of the previous season, the striker was in top form and was constantly scoring goals for the team.
In the second half of the season, he didn’t get to start as often as he would have hoped to and as a result his goal tally started to decrease. Despite that fact, the striker still managed to find the back of the net on a number of occasions and often came
to the team’s rescues.
Nonetheless, it seems like City may have gotten bored of the player and are now looking to add some more fire power up front.
With Cavani now out of the picture and with Dzeko not set to leave for the time being, City could end up looking at a cheaper alternative.
Cavani was bound to cost the team above thirty million pounds, but with Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 now in the last year of his contract with the Gunners, City could end up landing him for a significantly cheaper price.
