Manchester City were recently starting to get linked with a potential move for Barcelona forward and Spanish World Cup winner, David Villa. However, it now seems like the player has shunted off the possibility of making that move, as he has gone on to claim
that he wishes to retire at the Camp Nou.
Villa, who is now twenty nine years old, joined the Catalans from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 just a year ago. Following his forty million Euro transfer, the player has gone on to score an impressive twenty three goals in his debut season for the club.
Nonetheless, despite that fact, the forward was being linked heavily to make a shocking move to Manchester City. Barcelona were looking to go all out in the summers and make massive offers for Udinese forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314, Cesc Fabregas.
However, in order for the team to make substantial bids for those two, they were going to need ample money to spend, which was going to be acquired from Villa’s sale.
After being made aware of these rumours regarding his departure, the player went on to state: “All that’s been said hasn’t bothered me because it isn’t rumours or speculation, it’s a lie”
“Hopefully I can retire at Barca because that would mean everything has been great for me.”
“I would like to have the chance to retire at Barca even though I’m only 29. It would be very nice. I want to be at Barca as long as possible.”
Following his statement about his commitment to Barcelona, the player then turned his attention elsewhere and focused on the potential signings, which the club were trying to make.
When talking about Sanchez and Fabregas, Villa is quoted to have said:
“They (Sanchez and Fabregas) are two very good players at both an individual and collective level, and it would be a big injection of quality for our side (if they signed).”
According to most experts, despite Villa pledging his allegiance to Barcelona, his future does not entirely depend on him. The Catalans have revealed that they are going to go all out, when trying to land Sanchez and Fabregas, which means that they might
just be inclined to let go of Villa.
Manchester City, as we all know manage to go ludicrous when signing players and should they make a ridiculous offer for Villa, which is around forty million Euros, than Barcelona might not even hesitate as they accept the offer.
Should it come down to that, then Villa should accept his fate and move on and in doing so, he would truly prove his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Love-c22466 for the club.
