Manchester City target Ezequiel Lavezzi not leaving Napoli – helps boost City’s efforts to land Sergio Aguero
Manchester City have been linked to making moves for a number of players this summer. One of those players was Napoli forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073.
According to recent developments, it seems like Lavezzi just won’t be leaving the Italian club this season. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 president Aurelio De Laurentiis has stated that the ultimate decision lays with the player, but he is more than likely to opt to stick around
a little longer.
According to the player’s agent, he never was in line to move to City and most probably never will be. He has stated that all these rumours regarding his client are just rumours and hold no real weight.
Lavezzi’s agent is quoted to have said: "I don't know why all these rumours have come out regarding Lavezzi moving to another club"
"Maybe some people just want to stir up a case. It's true there is a clause in his contract, but to leave a club, a player must also be in agreement.
"Lavezzi will not leave Napoli, but if an offer was to arrive that suits both club and player then we could talk."
Following these words from the player’s agent, it seems all the more likely for the team to pursue their move for Atletico Madrid forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero.
The team had been pursuing both Lavezzi and Aguero, but due to the stand that Lavezzi has taken, they are all the more likely to confirm the signing of Aguero within the next week or so.
Aguero was previously being linked with a move to either Juventus or Real Madrid. Both those teams ended up pulling out of making a move for the player, mainly due to the fact that his wages and transfer price were a little too high for them. Luckily for
City, wages and transfer prices are not a problem, which often leads to them being the favourites to land every decent player up for a transfer.
The Atletico forward has himself gone on to admit that he would be open to make a move to the Eastlands, in fact he was even willing to take a wage cut, to make the move.
City currently have a number of forwards in their ranks, but have been looking to offload fringe players, in order to create room for new signings.
As a result, should Aguero end up joining the team, they likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 would be pushed out the door, to the first club showing any signs of interest in them.
