Manchester City to be without Yaya and Kolo Toure in FA Cup clash
Manchester City are going to be heading into their FA Cup game against Manchester United, without Yaya Toure and Kolo Toure, after the duo were called to link up with the Ivory Coast squad, for the African Cup of Nations.
At the moment, the brothers are set to report to Paris this weekend, in order to link up with the team before the start of the tournament in January 21st.
However, City are trying their best to somehow keep a hold of the duo for the upcoming clash with their local rivals.
Despite City’s best efforts, it seems like the team might fall short in their attempts, as the Ivory Coast manager, Francois Zahoui has gone on to insist that all his players need to be with the national team before January 7th.
The manager for the Ivorian team, when talking about the situation that the Toure’s are in, is quoted to have said: "Clubs know the rules"
"I'm expecting them [the Toures] for the Fifa deadline.
"The national team in Ivory Coast is led by people who are well educated and I was surprised that people in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 think that we don't know the Fifa rules about dates.
"Here, when we call-up the players, they are obliged to turn up at the date indicated by Fifa. So when we call them up we know that the clubs need to let them go.”
Even if the Toure brothers do leave for the African Cup of Nations, City shouldn’t be too concerned about what to do. The team currently has ample players who can fill in for the dynamic duo and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 is probably well aware of this fact.
Many experts also believe that this is now a golden opportunity for the manager to try and utilize some of the younger players in the squad, as they could prove their worth and potentially make a name for themselves in the first team.
However, what can be said assuredly is the fact that Yaya and Kolo Toure won’t be allowed to face off against Manchester United in the FA Cup, despite City’s best efforts.
