Carlos Tevez has confirmed the speculations being made about his expected transfer news and called the verdict ‘regrettable’. Tevez had tabled a request to the Manchester City management to release him. City had turned down the
request and hinted that they would not let him go until the contract expires in 2014.
The 26-year old Argentinean striker fired a statement off on Sunday night, saying “I can confirm I placed a transfer request to the Chairman Manchester City Football Club. I want to clear my head and think because this is important
for my long term career and my feelings have not changed. This is regrettable that I reached this situation. This is something I have felt for a long time, I spent many hours thinking this through.”
Tevez also revealed that he asked to leave the Blues this summer but the advisor ,Kia Joorabchian retained him by saying it would be a drastic action to the club.
Carlos Tevez expressed that he was unduly influenced by others, wanted to leave the club this summer but was convinced to turn back to the club. He added, "I am disappointed that the management should now see fit to try to portray
the situation in another light. My relationship with certain executives and individuals at the club has broken down and is now beyond repair. I do not wish to expand on this at this stage. They know, because I have told them. Unfortunately my feelings have
not changed.”
