Manchester City started the second half by making two substitutions in the half time break as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adam-Johnson-c3537. These two changes were made by
the home team’s manager in response to City’s disastrous showing in the first half due to which they found themselves trailing the Red Devils by three goals to nil.
However these two substitutions worked magically for the Citizens as it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aleksandar-Kolarov-c4475 who pulled a goal back for Manchester City right at the start of the second half via a superb free kick which left Lindegaard, the
Manchester United goalkeeper stranded.
The ball swerved all over the place and deceived the Danish goalkeeper as the score line took a shift for the better from the City perspective at 3-1. City took heart from their fantastic start to the second half and piled up pressure
on the away team who looked jaded and tired for most of the second half of the encounter.
Mancini’s men looked hungrier in the tackle and this paid off for them in the 64th minute http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Milner-c17706 crossed the ball for Aguero whose first time effort was blocked by Lindegaard but the agile Argentinean pounced on
the rebound and made it 3-2, leaving City with just a single goal deficit to make up. Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 into the game in the second half to maintain United’s grip on the match and the Englishman’s introduced slowed the tempo of the
game which worked in the Red Devils’ favour.
In the last ten minutes of the match, City pressed forward to gain the vital equalizer which would’ve potentially forced the encounter towards a replay at Old Trafford but Sir Alex Ferguson’s team held on in the end to gain a victory
over their neighbours and in doing so, they knocked Roberto Mancini’s team out of the F.A Cup, a competitiont that was won by the home team last season. City did well in the second half but their inability to discipline themselves in the first half proved
to be their downfall in the end.
