Manchester City vs. Notts County- FA Cup report
Manchester City took on Notts County, in what was a scheduled encounter in the FA Cup. The match was a must win for City, as they wanted to maintain their hopes of landing some form of silverware at the end of the season.
The match kicked off with Notts taking the game to City. The visitors were stringing together a number of chances early on, but failed to really capitalize on any of those chances.
In the 37th minute, City finally took a firm footing in the game as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316 opened the scoring on the night. David Silva curled in a brilliant corner, which Vieira headed into the back of the net from the edge of the area.
The goal from Vieira was just a mere sign of things to come, as the next goal of the game came in the second half, in the 58th minute.
Another corner was whipped into the Notts area with precision and just like clockwork Vieira was present on the spot once again to nod the ball into the back of the net to get his and City's second goal in the game.
The match became a little quiet for the next twenty minutes, till Carlos Tevez gave the fans something to cheer about in the 84th minute. Edin Dzeko released the Argentine with a well timed pass and the forward rounded the keeper before rolling
the ball into the back of the net.
In the 89th minute, it was Tevez, who was present at hand once again, at the heart of things. The forward raced forward towards the Notts County goal and then drew the keeper out. He then went onto clip a pass back to Dzeko, who then had the simple
task of nodding the ball into the back of an empty net.
Just to add insult to injury in the last minute of regulation time, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Micah-Richards-c25259 decided to get in on the act and thumped home a volley directly from a corner in the 89th minute.
As a result of that last goal, the match ended with City having scored five goals, compared to the zero goals that were scored by Notts.
The line-ups on the night were as follows:
Man City: Hart, Richards, Toure, Lescott, Kolarov, Balotelli, Vieira, Toure Yaya, Silva, Zabaleta, Dzeko
Subs: Taylor, Kompany, Boateng, Barry, Jo, Tevez, Nimely
