Roberto Mancini concerned about Vincent Kompany
Manchester City boss Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 revealed he was waiting on the medical team’s report which would determine the extent of the injury sustained by Belgian defender Vincent Kompany. The 24-year-old has been an essential part of City’s defense this season
and has been putting in consistent performances for the side. However, Kompany picked up an injury during the 3-0 win over Aris Salonika in the Europa League last night.
Mancini is already facing an injury crisis which is threatening to affect his side’s form and ultimately their position in the Premier League. Manchester City are currently at third place, but having played an extra game could easily lose out their position
to either Tottenham Hotspur or defending champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. The Italian manager cannot afford to lose out another first team player at this point.
The match schedule has not been particularly easy on Manchester City, with the side having to play a match every three days. Mancini revealed they would soon have details on the injury Kompany picked up, he said while speaking to reporters, “We won't know
what has happened until tomorrow [Friday] when we see what the situation is. We have a lot of injuries at the moment, so I hope it is not serious and he will be available for Sunday.”
Mancini’s side have somewhat tricky fixtures coming up ahead, they will take on Fulham in the Premier League after which they face Aston Villa in the FA Cup. They have another Premier League fixture against Wigan Athletic and back to back Europa League matches
against Dynamo Kyiv. The City boss was coy on his team selection in the upcoming fixtures, not giving too much as to what players he planned to use.
Steve Bruce hopeful on Michael Turner’s retrun
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce revealed he was hopeful about Michael Turner making a return despite a recent setback. Turner had to see a specialist after he complained of pain in the knee he had previously injured, which makes him a doubt for the upcoming
clash against Everton in the Premier League. However, Bruce refused to rule out the player completely, saying he would wait on test results before he made a decision.
The Sunderland boss revealed he was still hopeful the player would make a quick return and said the player was undergoing tests to determine the extent of his knee problem. He said while speaking to reporters, “Michael is going in for a scan so that we can
find out exactly what the problem is. It is pointless speculating on what might or might not be wrong - we will just wait for the results and take it from there.
Michael Turner has been an important part of the Sunderland defense since his arrival in 2009 from Hull City. Steve Bruce was full of praise for the 27-year-old defender who is known to play through minor injuries, he continued, “But Michael is as tough
a footballer as you will find, so for him to pull up and say he wasn't happy with it tells you something. He will play through the pain barrier every time.”
