Manchester City’s Adam Johnson more than willing to compete for his spot in City squad
Manchester City forward and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adam-Johnson-c3537 has gone on to admit that he is more than willing to compete for his spot in the Manchester City squad. The player’s position seems to be under threat following the new signings at the club,
but the forward seems to be more than willing to fight for his spot.
With Mancini admitting to wanting another winger, it seems like Johnson will be in line to sit out some games, however, he seems more than eager to avoid that situation.
Johnson, when talking about Mancini and his plans is quoted to have said: "I know the manager has said he wants another winger, but with the players we've got here, most of us know we won't play every single game”
The player then admitted that having to compete for your spot in the team is what made a team massive, as he went on to add:
"That's just part of being at a massive club like this. Two players for every position is good but if it was any more than that it would be difficult to get a game."
Johnson had previously been linked with a move out of City. However, the young forward went on to admit that he had been told by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 himself, that he was a crucial part of City’s plans and hence he was not going to be going anywhere in the near future.
He continued: "When you get linked with other teams you start to wonder if you are in their plans. But it's brilliant he's said I am.
"I had a lot of conversations with the manager, some things I agreed with, some I didn't.”
At the moment, one of the players that City are being linked with is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360. The French international has avoided putting pen to paper to a contract extension with the Gunners and is being pursued by City. Should he end up making a
move to the Etihad Stadium, then Johnson is going to have a massive task on his hands to compete for a spot in the squad.
Nasri was by far one of the best players to participate in the Premier league last season and should he keep that form this coming season, he is going to be a regular member of whatever team he plays for.
Nonetheless, it also seems highly unlikely for Johnson to be sold by City, as they are looking to add depth to their squad and not get rid of their better players.
