Manchester City's Carlos Tevez ruled out for two matches
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been ruled out of action for the club’s next two games due to injury.
The Argentina international was substituted during City’s 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the English Premier League on Sunday, 24 October after suffering from a dead leg.
Tests were carried out on the player, and it was revealed that there was suffering around his thigh and knee areas.
As a result, he will miss the EPL match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, 30 October and is unlikely to play any part in the UEFA Europa League group stage clash with Lech Poznan on 4 November.
City manager Roberto Mancini has allowed the player to fly back to his homeland while he recovers, telling reporters that: "Now he is in Argentina because of a family problem."
Meanwhile, fellow City forward Roque Santa Cruz previously suggested that Tevez was homesick and wished to return to Argentina on a permanent basis. However, Mancini has denied that assertion.
He added that Tevez should be fit in time for the match against West Bromwich Albion as well as the showdown with neighbours and EPL title rivals Manchester United.
'Tevez will be available against West Brom'
Mancini said that: "He never said anything like this to me but this is normal if you are a foreign player in a different country away from your family for a long time. But Carlos has a job here and he does a fantastic job for us. He will come back on Monday
morning and he will be available against West Brom next weekend."
While Tevez is sidelined, summer arrival Mario Balotelli and former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor are expected to spearhead City’s attacking line.
Adebayor recently hit a hat-trick in the Europa League against Poznan, while Balotelli is making a comeback from injury.
