Manchester City's Emmanuel Adebayor pleads for Juventus to come get him
Emmanuel Adebayor has managed to issue a come and get me out of here plea to Juventus. This is due to the fact that the player feels that his career at Manchester City has come under a large scale threat, due to the capture of new players over the course of the current summer transfer window.
Adebayor claims that he has officially been given permission to leave the club by the City officials. This is due to the fact that Mario Balotelli is quite possibly on his way to the Eastlands from Inter Milan. This is despite the fact that City were shocked by the players wage demands. Adebayor however is not concerned with any of that and hopes that Juventus can manage to put together a deal that would see the player be rescued from City. City have not once said that they were going to let Adebayor leave the club, but according to what the player has said, it is a completely different picture.
Adebaoyr was reported to have told Tuttosport, "Juventus are a great club in which I would like to play," "Until some time ago I would not have accepted a transfer to other clubs. I wanted to wear the City shirt and have a better season compared to last year, but I know there will not be many chances for me and so I am considering the many offers I have received.
"I am sorry to leave the Premier League, but in Europe there are other top leagues."
It seems that the player has put himself on the market himself with Juventus being the only club he wants to be a part of. Juventus have previously been linked to wanting to sign a striker. This was a result of the Italian club trying to pursue Wolfsburg’s ace hit man, Edin Dzeko. Dzeko has been a long term target for Juventus. However a deal could not be struck between the two teams, due to the fact that Wolfsburg were demanding forty million Euros for the player. That was a price Juventus felt was far too high and did not match their evaluation of the player. The deal died down, but Juventus still needed a striker.
Adebayor got to know about this and managed to make a public statement begging for the club to come get him. He did so because he was aware of the clubs requirements for a striker and also knew that if a player was asking to be taken it would make the deal a whole lot easier.
This isn’t the first time Adebayor has managed to pull such a stunt. Before being employed by Manchester City, Adebayor was working for Arsenal. During his last season with Arsenal, the Togo striker kept releasing statements to clubs saying that he wished to join them. He did so without the club being informed about it or the manager knowing what he was doing.
He made one statement which said that he wished to join AC Milan and begged them to take him from Arsenal. He also said that he was kept at the club without him wanting to stay at the club and wished to be saved.
It appears as though the player is going on in similar fashion only with different teams this time. AC Milan never really bought the player who ended up at Manchester City instead. So it is now a matter of waiting and watching what team will intervene and ‘save’ the player from his current employers at Manchester City.
