Manchester City’s Italian manager Roberto Mancini vows to make his team play beautiful football
Manchester City's Italian manager, Roberto Mancini, has vowed to take City back to playing beautiful football again, as soon as the team are fit and back to their full strength. By beautiful football the manager means the
team will go back to playing some attack minded football as opposed to the rather defensive and boring football the team has been playing in recent weeks, due primarily to the fact that a majority of the first team players have been injured since the start
of the season.
The manager will however have to take into account that playing beautiful football doesn't always mean that the team will get the best results. Teams like Arsenal play some of the best football that anyone can lay spectacle
to; however they have not won any silverware in the last five years - which goes to show that playing good football doesn't mean that you are playing effective football.
The manager also has another problem at hand. Carlos Tevez, who has more than often been the sole saviour for City, seems to have gotten into some sort of a bust-up with the manager. The manager will have to firstly get things
back to being stable between him and the player and then he will have to assure Tevez and the rest of the squad that they will soon have more players fit and hence have more options when taking the field.
The manager when asked about his defensive tactics said, "It's out of necessity" "Emmanuel Adebayor has just recovered from injury, but Mario Balotelli hasn't.”
"And without flying full-backs like Jerome Boateng and Aleksandar Kolarov, who can push forward, I've had to adjust the team to get results. But only until everyone is back and fit.”
Clearly the manager who had an infinite budget going into the transfer window failed to take into account that even if he bought all the players in the world they would at some point manage to get injured and hence not be
available to participate in any games.
That being said, the City bench and squad will soon be given an overhaul, which could happen as soon as the international break is over. That would mean that City would be performing on all cylinders. Considering how they
are currently already at the second spot in the Premier League's rankings, that would only mean that the team could go on to take the number one spot in the domestic league.
