Manchester City’s James Milner delighted to pick up three points against Villarreal

Going into the game City had only one point from their opening two games in the Champions League and the team looked to be nearing a very early exit from the tournament.

As a result, City were trailing very early on in the game. However an own goal near the end of the first half gave the team some hope,

Despite City not producing a very convincing performance in the game, Milner along with almost every single other City player is delighted to have just picked up the three points from the game, which are going to give the squad a massive boost in their hopes
to progress to the next round of the tournament.
Following the game, Milner went on to reveal his delight after picking up the three points as he is quoted to have said: "That is what we needed to do, get the three points. It was important that we did that”

"We left it late but we got the three points and that is all that mattered.

"We have played better. We didn't start the game well but we had the belief to keep going and do the right things, and it paid off in the end.

"Even if it takes until the 93rd minute to get the winner, you just have to keep doing the right things."
Milner then went ahead and turned his attention to the upcoming game against United as he admitted it was going to be a real test for both the teams and would help prove just which side now had the strong hold in Manchester.
Milner then ended by stating: "We know it will be a tough game, a great atmosphere, a great occasion, but if we keep playing as we are I am sure we can get the win."
City are now looking like one of the most lethal forces in Europe and the chances of them landing some trophies are higher than they have ever been in the past.
